The U.S. lottery (lotto) proxy purchase service has been legally operated by many companies in Korea for over 10 years, and there are also many authorized agents operating legally in the UK and across Europe.
For both Mega Millions and Powerball, prize money from 3rd to 9th place is pre-paid by Migoro Korea. However, for 1st and 2nd place large jackpots, winners must visit the U.S. lottery office in person in accordance with the prize claim regulations of the U.S. lottery authority.

For prizes under $1,000,000 (approx. 1.3 billion KRW), Migoro Korea (hereafter "Migoro") pre-pays the amount to members.
Prizes are processed as follows based on the winning amount:
For winnings under $600:
Winnings are processed in [My Page > My Prizes] after the draw time on the day of the announcement.
No taxes are deducted.
The credited cash can be withdrawn, used to purchase tickets, or converted to points 24/7, 365 days a year.
For winnings between $600 and $1,500:
If the prize is between $600 and $1,500, Migoro deducts U.S. federal tax (24~37%), income tax (10%), and remittance fees, then pays the balance within 7 business days from the announcement date. (Although the proxy agent in the U.S. collects the winnings, Migoro pre-pays the amount to the winner.)
The processed prize can be withdrawn, used for ticket purchases, or converted to points 24/7, 365 days a year.
For winnings between $1,500 and $1,000,000:
If the prize is between $1,500 and $1,000,000 (approx. 1.3 billion KRW), Migoro deducts U.S. federal tax (24~37%), Oregon state tax (8%), income tax (10%), and remittance fees, then pays the balance within 15 business days from the announcement date. (The U.S. proxy agent collects the winnings, but Migoro pre-pays the amount to the winner.)
Winnings can be withdrawn 24/7, 365 days a year. (Note: Additional taxes may apply in Korea based on annual personal income after cash withdrawal.)
For winnings over $1,000,000:
If you win over $1,000,000 (approx. 1.3 billion KRW), Migoro staff will accompany you to the U.S. to collect the prize in person with an attorney contracted with the local proxy agent.
Migoro will cover the cost of round-trip airfare, up to two months' accommodation at a 3–4-star hotel, and other expenses related to prize collection. (Details will be discussed with the winner.)
Winners will pay Migoro 5% of the net prize amount (after taxes) after collection.
For winnings over $10,000,000:
If the prize exceeds $10,000,000 (approx. 13 billion KRW), Migoro staff will accompany you to the U.S. to collect the prize in person with an attorney contracted with the local proxy agent.
Migoro will cover all expenses including attorney fees, first-class airfare, up to two months' accommodation at a 5-star hotel, and security costs.
Winners will pay Migoro 3% of the net prize amount (after taxes) if the prize exceeds 300 billion KRW, and 1% if the prize exceeds 1 trillion KRW.

MegaPowerUSA charges a 5% fee on the net amount received for first prize or large jackpot winnings.
This fee covers all costs involved in processing your winnings, including:
Airfare, up to 2 months’ luxury hotel accommodation, legal and tax professionals in both Korea and the U.S., and all other expenses related to receiving the prize.
Winners must pay MegaPowerUSA 3% of the net amount received if the prize is over 300 billion KRW, and 1% if over 1 trillion KRW, after taxes.
Additionally, to show appreciation for our members’ support, for practical second prize winners of Powerball and Mega Millions (USD 1 million), MegaLottoUSA offers early prize payments within 15 business days without requiring a visit to the U.S.

You can check your winnings on the My Page > Purchase/Winning History page after 4 PM the day following the announcement date.

For winnings between $600 and $100,000 (USD)
For winnings between $600 and $100,000 (approximately 130 million KRW), after deducting 24% U.S. federal tax, the remaining amount will be processed as winnings on the announcement date and withdrawal requests can be made within 7 business days.
Withdrawn winnings are prepaid to the winner by MegaPowerUSA.
(After cash withdrawal, additional taxes may be incurred payable to the Korean government based on the winner’s annual personal income.)
For winnings between $100,000 and $1,000,000 (USD)
For winnings between $100,000 and $1,000,000 (approximately 1.3 billion KRW), after deducting 24–37% U.S. federal tax (minimum 24% for winnings of $165,000, maximum 37% for winnings over $600,000), and remittance fees, the remaining amount will be processed as winnings and withdrawal requests can be made within 15 business days.
Withdrawn winnings are prepaid to the winner by MegaPowerUSA.

For winnings of $1,000,000 (approximately 1.3 billion KRW) or more
MegaPowerUSA staff will visit the U.S. directly and receive the winnings together with contracted lawyers from the local purchasing agency.
General airfare, up to 2 months’ accommodation at 3-4 star hotels, and other expenses related to collecting the winnings are provided.

The winner pays MegaPowerUSA a 5% fee based on the actual amount received after taxes.

Mega Millions – Drawings are held at 12:00 AM (midnight) Korean time on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Powerball – Drawings are held at 12:00 AM (midnight) Korean time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
It takes about 1 to 3 hours to finalize the payout after the drawing.

On My Page > My Winnings, you can freely choose to convert to points or withdraw cash. |
